Earlier this week, the National Construction Pipeline Report 2021 was published to the public.

Commissioned by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and jointly prepared by BRANZ and Pacifecon (NZ) Ltd (Pacifecon), the report gives those in the construction industry the opportunity to gauge the opinions on the health of our sector, from the view of the Government and leading industry bodies.

Amongst their key findings, the report stated that  "Construction activity has held up well against the COVID-19 pandemic and is expected to continue to do so..." - a sentiment that was predicted by our own local network in our recent industry sentiment survey.

The report continues that, while the construction industry saw an overall decrease of 5.7% ($42.6bn) in 2020, this is only a small bump in the road as the industry is expected to soar to a whopping $48.3bn by 2024.
