The 12T smooth drum is the heavy production roller for roading and bulk civil work. Using static pressure, vibration and impact, it compacts gravel, rock, sand and granular fills to a flat, dense surface — the machine road construction projects rely on for subgrade and basecourse layers that have to pass density testing first time.
Our Sakai SV520DF delivers up to 255 kN of centrifugal force across a 2130 mm drum, with high and low amplitude settings for thick structural lifts through to finishing passes. It’s the natural partner to large excavators and dumpers on subdivision and infrastructure earthworks. If your material is cohesive clay, hire the 12T padfoot for compaction at depth; for smaller areas and asphalt, our double drum classes are the better fit.
