12T Sakai SV520DF Padfoot Roller
This 12T padfoot roller is designed for projects where you need to compact soil at greater depths. These rollers, also called sheepsfoot rollers, have tapered pads that penetrate and compact the soil to build up its strength. Gravity and vibration compact the material from the top down.

When you’re placing engineered fill by the thousands of cubes, the 12T padfoot is the compaction machine the programme runs on. Also known as a sheepsfoot roller, its tapered pads penetrate each lift and compact cohesive soil from the bottom up — gravity and vibration doing the work that surface rollers can’t. This is the class for bulk earthworks, subdivision platforms, embankments and landfill capping in Auckland clay.
Our Sakai SV520DF puts up to 255 kN of centrifugal force through a 2130 mm drum, with dual amplitude to match lift thickness and material moisture. It pairs naturally with our 22–25T excavators and 9T site dumpers on production fill operations. For smaller trench and shoulder work the 5T or 7T padfoot is easier to manoeuvre, and for granular basecourse or final surfaces you’ll want the 12T smooth drum instead.
