5.5T Excavator - Yanmar ViO55-6B
This 5t class excavator is smart and user-friendly. It provides superior comfort and it’s aimed at a variety of worksite environments. The “true” zero-tail-swing allows access in the tightest of places. For user convenience, this model is fitted with a backfill blade, hydraulic quick coupler and comes with rubber tracks to protect the surface and ensure quiet travel. The 5–5.5 tonne excavator is the contractor’s all-rounder. It has the weight and hydraulics for genuine production work — site cuts, driveways, drainage runs, retaining walls, demolition of small structures and loading trucks — while still being compact enough for infill sites and truck-and-trailer transport without a heavy haulage permit. Digging depths of 3.5–3.9 m and lift capacities over a tonne make it a big productivity jump from the 3.5T class.
Choose from our Yanmar ViO55-6B and ViO50-6B, or Kubota U55-4 and U48-4. All run rubber tracks to protect finished surfaces, with backfill blades and quick couplers for fast attachment changes — rock breakers, augers and tilt buckets are all available to suit. If you’re mainly working on an established residential section, the 2.5–3.5T class may be easier to place; for bulk earthworks or heavy demolition, step up to the 8T.
