The 2.5 tonne class is the step up from a 1.7T machine that keeps tight-access ability while adding real digging power. It’s ideal for drainage and service trenches, footings on established sections, retaining wall digs and general landscaping — with zero tail swing so you can slew confidently against fences and walls.
Our fleet in this class is led by the Kubota U27-4, a proven and user-friendly digger with strong breakout force and low fuel use, digging to around 2.8 m. At roughly 1.5 m track width it still fits down most driveways, so you get productivity without sacrificing access.
If your gateway is under about 1.3 m, size down to the 1.7T. If you’re moving bigger volume on an open site, the 3.5T or 5.5T class will get it done faster.
