How do I change an auger and other attachments on an excavator?

Read decal printed on window inside the cab with specific instructions for the particular machine:

-Depressurise the auxiliary lines before removing buckets or attachments connected to the hydraulic system. Once depressurised uncouple the quick couplers for the attachment or bucket

-Function quick hitch switch to the unlock position

Alarm should sound to let the operator know that the hitch is in the unlock position

The switch could be a physical switch inside the cab or it could be a button on the display unit

-Once switch is in unlock position the excavator will require a second movement to release the hitch. This may be crowding the bucket right in and holding or functioning the dipper arm attachment or bucket can now be removed and the Auger Drill Motor can be picked up. Crowd breaker up and function the quick hitch switch back to the lock position. The hitch should lock and the alarm sound will seize

-Depressurise the auxiliary system again and connect Drill motor lines to the auxiliary circuit

-Make sure PTO valve is in the two way position

-Change settings to drill motor or two way setting on the display and use the auxiliary function to operate auger. This may be the switches on the joysticks or it may be a foot pedal

Motor should turn freely in both directions

OTHER ATTACHMENTS:

-Changing with another attachments will be the same as one of those depending on what the attachment is so that covers most things in auger and breaker with unique setups as the exception

-Changing hydraulic flow on the Yanmar 8T is by using the dials below the joysticks. All other machines are done using the display units. I don't think i would be able to type out instructions for the display settings without having each machine in front of me and detailing each step

-When checking hydraulic oil make sure the machine is in the correct stowed position as stated by each manufacture. Hydraulic oil levels can change dramatically if the machine is not positioned properly. For instance the kubotas need to have all boom arm rams at half way

Tip - Make sure excavator is in power mode and high revs if you find the quick hitch is struggling to open
